Maha Shivrathri is on February 27 (Thursday). At PSGIM, on February 27 evening, starting 6.00 PM, primarily at convention hall, we plan to have Student Bhajans, Pujas, Chanting of Mantras for Universal Wellness, Deepa Aaradhana for the Sacred Banyan Tree (VatVruksham), Neem Tree and Tulsi Garden, Prasadam Preparation and Distribution, Multi-Faith/ Spiritual Quizzes, Service Endeavors that Contributes to the Well-Being of the World, and possibly, screening of spiritual movies/ discourses. You can participate in all the above, and in any other possibilities.
You may also participate in the "Skip A Meal, Feed A Life" endeavor. While more than 800 million people in the world are affected by hunger, more than a thousand million are affected by obesity. In this holy period of Shivraathri, lets attempt to balance this. If you feel to balance your body, and if you are someone who eats three times or more, you may skip one meal for a period of 3/ 9/ 21/ 51/ 108 days. Whatever money you thus save from that endeavor, you can channelise it for feeding a child, animals, birds, or for caring for the planet. Whatever food/ food resources that you save thus, you can channelise it to feeding animals or birds.
One of the second year Anna MBA students has mentioned about a kidney transplantation surgery that her friend has to go through, for which they would be requiring financial support. You may use the saved money from "Skip A Meal, Feed A Life" to that cause too... Similarly, you may also contribute to this cause, by saving money from fasting on Shivraathri. If you would be requiring any special diet for breaking the fast in the evening, please update the Shivraathri organising team about your requirements.
